Guy M. Richard
is President and Associate Professor of Systematic Theology at RTS in Atlanta, where he has served since 2017. Before moving into his current position, Guy served as the Senior Minister of the First Presbyterian Church in Gulfport, Mississippi (PCA), for 12 years. Just before he arrived in Gulfport, Hurricane Katrina destroyed the church facility and the homes of approximately one-third of the members of the congregation. He had the privilege of shepherding FPC and the surrounding community through this life altering crisis.
Since Guy’s arrival in 2017, RTS Atlanta has seen record-growth or near record-growth in enrollment (both in number and in diversity), fundraising, and campus development. Under his leadership, the campus launched the Alonzo and Althea Edmiston Center for the Study of the Bible & Ethnicity in 2018 and started taking cohorts of students through a curriculum uniquely designed to equip today’s leaders for tomorrow’s world. The campus has also launched several other initiatives in the last few years that are designed to help RTS Atlanta prepare the whole person for Kingdom impact in the greater Atlanta area and beyond.
Guy regularly teaches and preaches in churches and speaks at conferences in the Atlanta area, around the United States, and across the world. He is the author of four books and many articles. He also posts regularly on his blog, Suburbs of Heaven, which can be found on his website. In his free time, he enjoys swimming, cycling, and most other sports. Guy and his wife Jennifer have three children.
